MP cuts ribbon as Decathlon and Superdrug open at Oaks

CROWDS of shoppers watched on last week for the opening of the new Decathlon and Superdrug stores, the latest to open in the Oaks Shopping Centre, Acton High Street.

Ealing Central and Acton MP Rupa Huq, who performed the ribbon-cutting, said: “Oaks Centre is great news for shoppers, but we need to ensure we have long-term policies in place to revive Britain’s struggling high streets.”

Dr Huq joined Cllr Abdullah Gulaid, the Mayor of Ealing, at the opening ceremony of Decathlon and were given a tour of the sports store.

Ricardo Rodriguez, Decathlon’s expansion manager, commented: “The opening exceeded all of our expectations. We were overwhelmed by the crowd and it took the team 12 minutes of continuous clapping to welcome everyone in!”
