'I burst into tears' - Morden midwife gives birth 10 HOURS after delivering a baby

It was a frantic few hours for a Morden midwife who gave birth just ten hours after delivering a baby.
Charlotte Day started her maternity leave at 34 weeks but had decided to work some extra shifts at St George's Hospital before her baby arrived.

The date was August 14 and she had gone home shortly after delivering a baby at 7.30pm.

So you can imagine her shock when seven hours later at 3am, she found herself back in the hospital and in labour with her own baby.

Charlotte said: “It felt very strange to say goodbye to everyone and then be back in less than twelve hours later."

A total of 10 hours after she delivered the mother’s, her own baby Milo arrived at 5.26am on August 15.

“I burst into tears when I heard I was 6-7cm dilated because it was such a shock and I wasn’t expecting it," Charlotte added.

“It’s been wonderful though and we can’t quite believe Milo is now almost two weeks old.”
