Man arrested in south Wimbledon on suspicion of drink driving and assaulting police

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and assaulting police in Morden in the early hours of this morning.

Officers on patrol at around 12.15am were alerted to a man driving erratically on Morden Road.
The vehicle was stopped by police.

The driver, a man aged in his 20s, got out of the vehicle and began to act in an aggressive manner.
He was arrested on suspicion of drink drive and assault on police.

He was later further arrested on suspicion of theft and driving without insurance. He remains in custody.
