Man found dead after concerned family called Welling Police

Welling Police have explained why there were so many officers around yesterday.

Officers were called to East Road/Upper Wickham Lane at 2.52pm September 6.
A person was believe to have collapsed behind a locked door.


PC Robinson and PCSO Mahoney from Welling Police attended and forced entry in order to save life and limb.

Inside a man was found deceased and along with ambulance crews initial concerns were raised about what had happened to this male.

In line with policy and procedure Response supervisors and local detectives from CID were notified and attended the scene.

The death was eventually deemed non suspicious by police several hours later. Police have now prepared a file for HM Coroner.

A Welling police officer said: "We thank a majority of residents for their assistance and patience, with the exception of one who called us a jobsworths because we wouldn’t tell him everything."
